The parallax and thermal shift have not been fixed!!!!

Nor is there a fix for them.

A change in temperature yields a shift - not just at those extremes.

It isn't just the thermal shift issue. It is the fact that you can have up to 4 MOA of parallax error when viewing the reticle off center and the fact that these sights are no longer sold as parallax free.

Everyone including the consumer has been lied to about the capabilities of the sight.

SOCOM is looking for a replacement and the Navy side of JSOC has stopped the use of EOTechs.

Sorry.......I don't trust OpticsPlanet. They are the same company that advertises products as "in stock" when actually they drop ship from China, then lie about it to you over the phone.

The POI shift is what has everyone concerned, but what has me irked is the delamination that can occur. When this happens, the reticle will suddenly fade where the delamination is occurring. I've had to send two units back to Eotech for repairs because of this.

With the first unit, the reticle was bright when in the center of the sight window. However, if moved to the outer 1/3 of the window, the reticle would dim considerably. I sent it back to Eotech (2 or 3 years ago) and they fixed it.

With the second unit, the delamination was happening in the entire lower half of the window. I sent it back to Eotech last year and they made it better, but it wasn't completely fixed. You could still notice dimming in the lower half. (I sent this unit back to Eotech last month for a refund.)

Maybe it's just coincidence, but both of the above units were the EXPS2-0 model.

Here's a video showing what delamination looks like. (Not my video, but the example also shows and EXPS2-0.)

I was in contact with EoTech customer service the last few weeks. According to them an updated sight should be coming out in April or March of this year. I was told it would not eliminate the drift issue, but make it it very minimal.

I'm not one for Internet rumor or to speculate but this was directly from an EoTech rep.

I'm not close to any of this but I've heard the same as well from DOD acquisition 'circles'.
I'll send in my EXPS 3-0 to swap out when this happens.

I've also had this problem on one unit dated 02/2013. Later units do not have this issue, according to EOTech's statement.

I would probably give EoTech another try in the future... For now I decided to return my xps2-0 for a refund. The fact my agency suddenly took off all eotechs and replaced them with Aimpoint H1s played into my decision a bit.

That being said I feel that L3 has stepped up with refunds and trying to fix the issue. I hope that the next generation works because I love the reticle.

Jokes on all of you... All optic suffers from thermal shift at extreme temperatures.
Aimpoint is one of the companies who doesn't admit to the truth.

Hell even trijicon will tell your their optics have thermal drift/shift and they'll even tell you by how many MOA at what temperatures. They published their MRO to drift 2.2 and 1.9MOA on extreme temperatures.

Eotech's problem is: they didn't publish the truth.

                    Yep.

Look through the refund threads and search the post history for some waiting on refunds. Wont take long to find the same guys who cant wait to get rid of it, thought it was the best thing since sliced bread just a short time ago.

If EOTech comes out with an updated sight that does indeed minimize or reduce the thermal drift zero, I may be tempted to update too. For now, Ill just enjoy what I have.

Guys do a search for EOTech on this forum if I could embed the thread I would I don't know how but there is another ad from Lensandlasers for a new eotechs that has been corrected with coupons for Calguns members.
this is the ad I've seen every month since the beginning of the year

The only thing that has been corrected since the first of the year, they now come with a disclaimer stating the Thermal Drift issue (to correct liability), I have an EXPS2-0 build date of 2/16 sitting next to me.

Some good news, mine seems to have near zero parallax error in all the ranges I have tested it at, from 5 to 250 yards. At least none I can see with my eye.

If you buy a 500 hp car and you only get 400, 90% of people are not going to miss that missing 100 in 90% of situations.

When offered a refund for a product that delivers short, 90% of people will take it. No mystery here. If the buyer didn't want the battle ready reliability that the company advertises, what's up with buying an EO Tech anyway?

I believe the tag line is "when it matters most".

I doubt anyone that sent in a sight even knows what kind of shift their gun/ammo will induce at those temperatures independent of any type of sight.
I had issues. Always was off poa. I didt think much until i started to read others had issues too. Annual sierra trips, zero the eotech next morning i had 4-6 clicks off poa.
Maybe just me? I sent my eotech in.

In other words, you were fine with it?

If you test/zero in your rifle in the morning, specially when its cold, i dont see any reason why you would not be off by 4 clicks "2MOA" on an EOTECH. doubt that was even eotech issue, you'd see the same problem on a $4000 optic. bullet travels slow when its cold.

0.1 to 2.40 is normal MOA change when its cold, barrel can also be the cause. choice of bullet can even yield MOA being off by up to 3, maybe even 5 MOA.

If you have access to trajectory software/program check out the trajectory by playing with with temperature, you'll see that its fairly normal. or if you shoot enough at all range of temperature then you'll know that temperature makes a huge difference in accuracy.
