Fake is no good. Even the real one is bad.

For $400 you could get a real eotech if you shop around. Or you could pick up an Aimpoint Pro. Either will suit you well.

It's hard to go wrong with the Vortex warranty.

What the heck is a holographic "hybrid?" I know there's a holographic, and a reflex. Can I safely assume they mean to say reflex, without saying it?

Go with either PA or Vortex. Learn from my mistakes...

My thoughts exactly. Eotech is a holo sight, not a simple reflex sight. Holo sights are newer technology and harder to copy. Its probably not a holo. My guess is it probably won't hold zero, or has 30 hours battery life, or both. I've had one of those imitation airsoft sights before. Battery died after 30 hours at 50% brightness. I say save money and get the real EOTech or buy one of the proven red dot sights like Bushnell TRS25 if you're short on cash

Get a TRS-25 and call it done. The fake Eotechs are all about looks, looking cool for your buddies while you airsoft and don't care if it actually works or not.

If you are on a budget, Primary Arms is the way to go.

If you really want an EOTech I would sign up for DVOR as they run deals on them all the time. I got a 512 from them for something like $370 then got a $50 rebate from EOTech.

Otherwise haunt Bass Pro for one of their 6 month to pay deals. Purchase the EOTech and pay it off over the duration, it equates to about $80 a month.

I love the looks of eotechs and i really want one with a magnifier i just dont have $1000 to spend on only my optic.

Here is the optic i would like to get.

Or if anyone else can recommend something else?
The other optic i was looking at was a Burris AR-336 which is around $350-$400
I would stay away from ANY replica sights PERIOD. Even any company that sells sights like this is a disqualifier for me. I do not think I will EVER buy ANYTHING NC Star or even that other company under their wing just because of the garbage they sell. I want nothing but quality (or half way decent) optics when I buy things now. I don't give a **** WHO THINKS WHAT of my guns- I only care that they are reliable and dependable. As a contractor I feel I owe it to everyone around me to have the best that I can afford and settling for knock-offs is a nono. Even the Buris Fast Fire 2 or 3 looked like it might be decent as opposed to an RMR for something I was looking at. It is okay to do some research and make a bad purchase on accident or because you were mislead through your research, but buying a FAKE intentionally is best left to posers and amateurs that are just getting into shooting sports.

I was at an ARF.COM shoot once at Burro Canyon and one guy named hitman laid out all of his stuff and he had about 4+ guns with ACOGs on them. ARFS, MP5s, you name it. He had some cool stuff to shoot but that was when I decided to not worry about what my firearms and optics look like, as long as they are real, reliable and work I am happy. You should take pride in your firearms and put decent optics on them. I am no scope expert, so I come here and ask all the dumb questions, then go make a purchase...

Why does it have to be a complete P.O.S. fake eotech or a $400 "budget optic."

You can get a real eotech for $400.

But if you can go up to $400, get an Aimpoint PRO or an eotech.

For under $100, primary arms micro dot or bushnell trs-25.

All four of the above would not be wastes of money.

Skip that and buy an aimpoint pro.

Pick up the 3x magnifier from primary arms down the road, if really "necessary"

Buy once cry once, and/or don't spend $400 on budget red dots.

A buddy of mine once handed me his "EoTech" at the range to try out. He had just got an ACOG and had never used it but told me he got a great deal and I could use it for awhile as I hadn't decided what optic to get yet.

One shot and it stopped working. I asked him where he got it and he told me where he found the thread (another gun forum) about them. I looked them up and it was indeed an Airsoft optic. Now it's a paperweight.
