I've returned mine. I plan on going with low magnification scopes for three rifles from returning my one Eotech.Originally posted by fighterpilot562I am more of a sucker than a blower...Comment

Looks promising, with a 30mm objective, but very little review info on them.....seems no one's really buying.Ive been looking at this red dot, seen a few pro reviews that like it but ive been hoping to see some consumer reviews

Clipped out of my email from them:

The way I see it, for serious users eotech is best for spec ops or short mission oriented use where battery life won't be an issue. Aimpoints are for general military use just leave it on and forget it type of thing. Although I believe both are good choices but eotech needs to correct their wrong first.
For ALL others, use what you like. Get both, I know i
I eventually will. Add an acog and accupoint too!
Also all electronics eventually can fail, that's why buis need to in place.Comment

I'm going to be checking out a bunch of optics at SHOT next month to find a good replacement for my EoTechs. I've got some aimpoints that I like, but I really liked the reticle on the EoTecth.
I'm also running 1-4x and 1-6x optics on some of my other rifles and may just go with those for everything.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Most folks are picking up Aimpoints, Vortex SPARC II's or MRO's.
However people on AR15.com have been picking up Meprolight TRU-DOT sights. Not sure how they are or why they are so popular but I assume there have been good reviews.Comment

I am in the same boat. The only thing I don't like about most variable optics is that they are not true 1x. The Elcan is the best I have used, but it's expensive.I'm going to be checking out a bunch of optics at SHOT next month to find a good replacement for my EoTechs. The MSE looks really impressive, but seems to have disappeared. It's discontinued all over and MSE seems to have morphed into Hartman but the one offering Hartman (due 2107?!?! WTF?!?!) is charged via USB? That doesn't seem like such a good idea, if you ask me.

The Eotechs have zero shifts at ALL temperatures different than your original zero. Just because its +/-4 at -40 or 120'f doesn't mean it jumps there, it means its creeping the whole damn time.
I was told by someone in LAPD Metro that they (and SWAT) have know about this lazy zero for sometime and would buy their own Aimpoints to replace them.
The reality though is that if you never noticed a shift with your EoTech in many years of ownership then this phenomenon is a non issue for you. But they have known about this problem for some time and have done nothing to remedy it, even in future models. That's why they are issuing full retail refunds instead of attempting to repair it... for one because they either haven't bothered to work on a fix in all this time, or they can't be fixed, and they are trying to avoid a class action lawsuit in which they might also pay damages instead of just refunds.Comment

It does have a backup CR123 battery, a sleep mode, and motion-sensor on....so the USB issue probably not negative. The MSE looks really impressive, but seems to have disappeared. It looks nice, but big and heavy, though....at 13 oz, it's notably more than a 9 oz. Eotech XPS2....if you are used to mini red dots.Join Active Junky for online rebates....$10 to both you and me!

It looks exactly like one of the original eotechs. But judging by the tests and torture they out it thru in the video, it might be the go to sight that will permanently out eotech out of business.
