I think Big 5 has dropped all C&Rs?

I have not been into our local Big 5 in a few months but I went in the other day to see what they had in stock. Surprised to see no Mosins, Mausers or any other milsurp rifles. No more single shot shotguns. They radically expanded .22s and mostly had Mossberg 500s, Mavericks, a few Savage and Ruger medium to higher end bolt actions. Kind of the end of an era, I bought my first Mosin 91/30 at Big 5 a few years ago. Now they only sell boring black plastic guns. I still regret not buying the new condition Yugo 59/66 with the California muzzle break in place of the grenade launcher but it was that or the Russian '55 Tula SKS and I ended up buying the Russian instead. Miss not having grabbed that Yugo.

What say you, anyone else see any milsurps in their local Big 5s or are they out of that business now?

I bought two 91/30's from Big 5 in July, they said they were not receiving any more after on hand inventory was sold. I called multiple Big 5s in the IE, same answer.

I was in there last week looking at knives, and I notices there were no mosins....thought something was funny....

I don't think that they are intentionally dropping them, it's more likely that the supply is drying up.

They had my laminate 1929 Tula MO/53 hiding away in the back. I always asked about the ones hiding in the back

While Big 5 was far from my favorite firearms retailer, there was something cool about just going down the street and seeing a store that had Mosins, Mausers and SKS on the racks. Other than Turners, there is no other gun store in the county that carries C&Rs. And Turners only occasionally carries C&Rs.

I wonder if the one in Yucca Valley still has one or 2. I know they did at one point. Same with the one in Victorville. They had a few also, but it's been prob almost a yr since I've been in either

I've cleaned out the ones in VV, Ridgecrest and Barstow in July. At least the nice hex receivers.

Barstow had 2, Ridgecrest had 1 and VV was dry.

I do not believe this is a choice on the part of BIG 5.
It is a supply issue.
Ever since the Russian sanctions went into place this past summer there has been no Mosin Nagant rifles delivered to ATI or Century Arms.
Century hasn't brought in any other C&R ex-military rifles in any sort of quantity in quite a while.
The last ones I remember were the M53 Mosins and early Chinese SKS's rifle's that came out of a former Soviet Bloc country.
There is nothing C&R available overseas anymore.
