Dutch, my uncle is like that too. He'll talk your ear off about the planes and flying them, but not a word what they were used for, unless it was peacetime.
Working on the pics.
I got two group shots of the safe's contents, before the camera called it quits again.
Couldn't use the wife's cam, she took it with her to the gathering of hillbillies, aka her family reunion (you have no idea how happy I am that I got out attending that)
.
I'll see if this camera will cooperate long enough to get them loaded to the PC, and posted.Comment

Wow finally got her open!! neat!! I expect Justin to have been perched near by waiting lolOh no, there goes the new gun monies.
I was drug through three miles of barbed wire, otherwise known as "the birthing classes". Ended up being twins, ...and they took em cesarean.
Got the frozen up gun safe opened today!
All shotguns with the exception of a mint condition Stevens .22/.410 O/U with Tenite stocks, and marked U.S.A.A.F. It was a survival gun that came out of my uncles B-29, never been fired. Two boxes of US marked 3" .410 #6 aluminum hulls with it.
I would have been ,but all my $$$ is going to the kids college fund now..ironic as its a super liberal east coast school...hahaha I should wear one my Nugent concert tees to parent day.
Glad you got that thing open!!! ****ohhh just saw picture with the Fox!!!!****Last edited by w55; 06-21-2014, 4:04 PM.Comment

Thanks for the pics, Trap.
We had such a cat, although I would guess she went 20 lbs. Of course, she chose the hottest day of the year to croak.
Some nice guns pictured, regardless.Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.Comment

Have to see if I still have pics of the 32 pounder, that thankfully moved out with the daughter. They cost about the same to feed!
Took about 20 pics of the Stevens before the camera crapped out again, about 6 came out.
Started another thread with the pics here:

I'm glad you finally got the safe opened. Those look like some nice shotguns you've had stashed away.

The cat doesn't look too happy that you've taken over its domain.

Belly rubs, some uncontrolled drooling, and she forgot what happened 5 mins ago.
Her little sister, (as in half her size and weight), is the gunsmith kitty.
She perches in here "supervising" my work. Earns her keep by bird dogging dropped or flying small parts. If she doesn't run to it, and point it like a bird dog, all I have to do is sight between her ears to know exactly where it landed.
She's even pawed grip screws out from under the desk for me. Waits for a kitty treat, then back to the supervisor perch. Works cheap.

What about coffee, a chair and table? Some Tri-tip?I have been there from 7AM to about 2PM on one occasion (waiting for Mr_Dunev to arrive from so cal to pick up a motorcycle) and there were still calgunners shooting when I left. It was also the first time I ran out of ammo to shoot.
Bring whatever you feel like shooting and enough ammo to feed it for as long as you want to stay.
I'll likely bring a Mosin, a couple of Mausers, an AR, a Camp 9, a couple of .22 rifles, a 1911, a shotgun and some black powder pistols. Maybe less if the pile looks too big to clean afterward.
