    SKS variant wish list

With all the new Sino Soviets, "Ghost", and Russian sneaks coming in lately, I've been trying to compile a personal SKS wish list of all the rare or uncommon variants that are desirable based on country of origin. I'm having the hardest time with Type 56s as there's a lot of information, but it seems to be all over the place. Anyone else have a list like this and if so, what's on it?

Do you have a further breakdown? You have good taste which is why I ask. For Chicoms I have:

      Sub-5 digit sterile Sino Soviet
      Letter prefix Sino Soviet
Soviet Sino if I ever come across one

Matching of course with the side rear sling swivels of course. I'd be interested to see what you value in true Russians.

          SKS Type 56

If I'm not mistaken (and I could be) Type 56 is prohibited in Calif. Who would of guessed CA would prohibit some thing... I believe I saw it on the "banned list"

You're thinking of the AK. The Type 56 SKS is not.

That one on GB a week or two ago was gorgeous but we were beaten by someone wanting it more.

If your only talking about Chinese SKS rifles you would include the M21 types, as well as the sheet metal receiver rifles... Maybe one from each arsenal who produced the SKS...A Chrome parade rifle... The DP, and DM variants as well as the various modified for commercial import into the US types.

Scrubbed serial number only types, and any other Chinese oddities...

Forgot about the M21. I'll have to add that to the list.

There are three different types of M21's... They each have different markings.

                          Here are two of them.

The third type has the 21 underlined as I remember..

Also add to the list the Chinese rifles used by Egypt..They look like Soviet refurbs, but are of Chinese manufacture. They mostly have laminated stocks.

Also the Chinese type 56 Precision Degree gun.. The extra Chinese symbols left of the arsenal markings translate to "precision degree gun".. They should have accompanying papers.

Also the Chinese security force marked rifles. They will have this marking on the right side of the receiver.

When were most of these imported? I'm assuming no time recently.
