    8mm Mauser Ammunition

This is a new caliber to me, and I don't really know what's a good deal and what isn't. Is this pretty much as cheap as it's going to get? http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-858

6 months before SH I paid $90 shipped for the same case from AIM Surplus. Great ammo but I hope you can keep looking and find a better deal than CTD.

Are you saying that AIM had 680 round cases of 8mm for $90 shipped in 2012?

I believe he meant per tin, so $180 for the case.

I have done a lot of searching around and CTD is the cheapest, with shipping it comes to $0.556 per round. Is there a secret supply of decently priced 8mm?

The stuff you are selling is not for military mausers. You are selling rimmed 8mm for expensive hunting rifles. It won't work in a K98 or M48.

I can't vouch for the ammo, but here's a much better deal, price wise:

I believe Wideners had some. Might be a little more but they're not a dirtbag operation like CTD.

Seriously think about reloading. It was buying a Mauser that finally prompted me to start, and now I have a reliable supply of clean, non corrosive 8mm for 55 cents. My cost is that high because I bought supplies last year at peak prices, long time reloaders have an even lower cost basis.

Wideners is $382 for the (I think) same ammo, with $61 shipping (to Sac).

Romy 8mm has been the most consistent 8mm for me, goes bang first strike in all my 8mm rifles. General online consensus is that it's the best surplus available for semi-autos due to the pressure curve (or some other black magic I don't know much about)

If I needed the ammo, I'd probably buy from CTD just cause of the lack of options, we're never going to see 10 cent 8mm again, and no one's importing anymore romy ammo.

That is pretty much the going rate now. I just bought a case a while back at a few more cents a round, and it didn't come with the wooden crate.

Are you sure? Just a while back the only surplus around was the Iranian stuff. It looks like a large shipment of romanian recently came in and everyone is selling it. Yugo sniper rounds were also showing up about a month ago, I wish I didn't hesitate on that.

"Sporter" is what the drooling toothless inbred albino with the hacksaw thinks his newly created "dear riffel" is.
"Bubba" is what he and his ugly and ruined rifle really are.
First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

Yeah, there's no way that happened, sorry. Neither the case nor the tin at $90 was offered in 2012.

The last I recall it being offered at AIM surplus was 99.95 for a TIN of 380rds in Sept 2010.

Wayback machine says approx May 2011 was the last time: https://web.archive.org/web/20110502...id=42&name=8mm
