Just because the BATF charged your card doesn't mean you are that close to getting your 03 FFL. I sent mine on a Tuesday and they charged my card that Friday and I didn't get my license for another two and a half months. I just sent in an address change a month ago and got the corrected one yesterday.

Why would it take them 2 1/2 months for an 03 FFL? I realize this may be getting a little off-topic, but I got my COE in less than 2 weeks. It seems like that would be harder to get (requires livescan, etc.) and considering it's Kalifornia. Why is the 03 FFL more time-consuming?

Can anyone else weigh in on turnaround time for 03 FFLs?

I reconsidered, broke down and sent in for my COE. Live scan with fees at UPS store in Oxnard was $91.00. The reason I broke is those IHC garands coming out after first of year. Plus I want that Albanian SKS I missed out on although it was C&R, it did not meet the over 50 rule. Not after Jan 1 is does.

I second others comments about the quick turn around time form DOJ. Submitted my COE application last Monday 28 Oct. It came in the mail today. 7 days....

I did my Live Scan today and mailed the paperwork. Be interesting to see how fast it comes back. I mailed my 03 FFL paperwork last week.

I sent in my C&R renewal paperwork on 9/25 and my COE renewal about 10/20. Compliments of the gov't shutdown I haven't seen the charge for my C&R hit yet and we are running out of time. Based on the turn arounds for the COE of late I should see that next week. Last year I didn't receive my renewed COE until the day the old one expired. Both expire in early December.

Mkt I wish you luck... My 03 expired Nov 1st and I send in my renewal the day after I received it... Middle of August iirc. I had to call them to get an extension letter.
