    C&R Shotguns

I'd like to know what shotguns y'all like. I'm kind of looking into a 12g

Would be cool if there were military ones, but I don't think there were any made as military issue

Anyway, post up what you like

Back in WWI they used a Winchester 1897 with a heat shield. It was called 1897 Trench Gun. Germans really didn't like it. Here is a photo of my replica with bayonet

      Boy, so many C&R shotguns...

Can't beat a Win Mod 97. Win Mod 12's are nice too. Older Win Mod 24 SxS, Mod 37, Stevens/Savage SxS, lots out there.
The new guns are fantastic, but there's certainly something about an older gun that somebody's grandpa used and then handed down....

I'm fond of the masterpiece known as the Browning Auto-5. Mine is just barely C&R, but my friend has one that his great grandfather bought in 1909. It shoots just as nice as mine.
Also available for slightly less money are the Remington 11 and Savage 720. They're licensed clones.

Browning A5, Win model 12, Ithaca 37, Win 97, Rem 1894, L.C. Smith, Lefever (real Lefever, not nitro express, though those are fine shotguns too, I dig mine), Rem model 10 and so many others. All of those are interesting for various reasons.

You want something really cool? There's a Browning A5 riot gun in a gun store in Norfolk, VA.

Bonny and Clyde were into cut down Rem model 11s and BARs.

              I am rather fond of my J C Higgins m20 12ga pump (Hi-Standard)
It has three chokes and small wrench that reside in a little leather binocular style carry case.

1887 lever action Winchesters are pretty cool.

I'm a fan of the older Lefever and model 24 Winchesters.

There were a whole bunch that went to war. A whole bunch that didn't, but were ordnance marked, and used as training weapons to teach bomber gunners how to lead an enemy aircraft.

If I can find a Winchester 97 with the heat shield, I may go with that. Man, I just don't care for a lot of the shotguns out there... aesthetics I mean
