Guaranteed to get better metal, case, chamber flag, buying with CMP. Its cheaper by a bit too but the transfer fee sucks. CMP ships to your door.

With all that aside it is a tempting deal! Are you sure they'll ship to 03? The website says have to ship to 01.

    Thanks op!

I ordered 2 sent a copy of my 03 and called the next day, the guy the answered the phone said 03 is good and he will ship direct to me. I also received a confirmation email with the following.

All firearms made after 1898 must be shipped to a federal firearms licensed dealer
a 03 Curio and Relic license is acceptable.

Ordered mine Friday, supposed to ship out Tuesday since my 03 want on file with them. Guy made no mention of them running low but I want about to wait. They do ship to your door. Glad I was able to get at least one more addition to my log before the laws change next year.

Glad to hear you guys are getting them! IMHO the Garand is the perfect rifle for CA residents in our current political climate. It's a full power semi-auto, with a less that 10 round internal magazine, no evil features, and if bought FTF, or 03FFL, or CMP there's no CA paperwork at all. If all the horrible laws pass the Garand will still not be an AW, when a 10/22 will. It''s one of the last options for those of us who want a semi-auto battle rifle, don't want to register it, but want to stay legal. I'm surprised more guys don't realize this.

As of Friday I am the proud owner of a beautiful Springfield receiver Garand made in December 1944 according to the sn.

I haven't had the chance to dig deeper into other parts but eventually I'll strip it and take a look. In the meantime, as promised...pictures:

Nice! Looks like a Jan. 1945 production date. WWII milled trigger guard, chamber is in the white. What is the date on the barrel? That would be pretty sweet if it was original.

I ordered mine on Friday the 24th, FedEx picked it up today for delivery. Im thinking that with it being a holiday weekend, thats a phenomenal turnaround.

I dont see why I wouldnt have it by this friday, which would be 7 days from when I ordered it to getting to my door.

There's no doubt that Dupage is getting these out the door quickly! I ordered mine on a Sunday and had it at my door Friday morning, which is tremendous especially these days. Only surprise was that shipping was $23 rather than the $13 that the website quoted, but it was insured and had signature confirmation. I can't complain about the shipping cost, though, as the original quote would have been unusually cheap for a rifle.

Your rifle will undoubtedly appear within a few days. Pics when it does!
