Which CMP Garand would be processed quicker?

    heya fellas,

I'm about to put in an order for a couple M1 Garands from the CMP and I wanted to ask what you thought would be processed faster - the Springfield or the HR?

I'm not too picky about the collectibility of them as I plan on taking them to the range..anyways, any thoughts? anyone make any recent purchase that maybe they can base an opinion from? thanks!

M1 Garand, Springfield Armory, Service Grade

M1 Garand, Harrington & Richardson, Service Grade

No telling, just depends which ones are ready to ship and current backlog. CMP states up to 90 days for shipment, so figure that as the latest.

If you want one quick then get a correct grade or a rack grade, the other two grades are the most popular thus having the longest lead time.

Give them a call and ask nicely. Someone may dig and find one that's in better condition.

Go with the HRA. The Service Grade I got ended up being an all matching with a MW of 1.5. If I didn't know better I thought they gave me a correct grade. I bought 2 Service Grade Springfields and although they were great neither stacked up to the HRA. A lot of people have been getting good HRA Garands out of CMP.

If you haven't yet, check out the the forum on the CMP site. There are always posts with questions and answers about wait times.
