Your 6 digit field grade has a better TE/ME rating than my 6 digit service grade. The only foreseeable difference is mine came with new CMP walnut.

That's what I was told by Definie at CMP. Bummer, I know. Figured if I want to convert it back to .30-06 I can buy a new Criterion barrel and remove the .308 plug from the magazine.

About 92 days total.

These are my first Garands. Ended up with serials 5505XXX and 5641XXX. Really nice HRA furniture--one has almost no marks, but is pretty heavy in Cosmo. Both have SA bolts. Both MR 1+, TR 2+.

I'd like to tear each down and see what the parts are. Anyone have a link to guide me through the process and help me understand what the parts makings mean? I'm pretty psyched,

Hard to believe these were $650 delivered with a case. Kind of sad that after Jan 1 it's an FFL or 03 plus COE plus reg fees. Seems unamerican.

Can't wait to shoot them. I'll post pics when I can take some and upload.

I was hoping for one the same year as either of my grandfathers joined up for WWII, but I got right between them. One joined in Feb. of '41 and the other in April of '43. Either way, she's beautiful to me.

My Garand arrived today and I'm happy! I didn't really know what to expect but this is exactly what I've been looking for. The stock looks great and the action is nice and smooth. I can't be happier with how quickly I got this gun, only 31 days! Anyways, here are some quick pictures I took. Can't wait to get it to the range to see how it shoots!

One has so much surface corrosion I am going to have to re parkerize it right away.

That has to be some sort of record! I can't recall seeing any processed that quickly since I started paying attention.
