What do you figger a cash-N-carry CMP Service Grade ought to go for?

(especially since the CMP delivered cost will go up by something like $100 in the Soviet Province after the first of the year as it is.)

Do you think it's best to put an order for a special since its seems they are shipping faster or get a service grade and hope it comes in before the first.

@drvn67stang If you can afford it I'd get the special. Less stress and the quality's there. And if you did order the service grade and it ends up not making it they'll probably do what they do in NJ and ship it to an FFL but then you'll have DROS and sales tax which will kill a lot of the savings.

I'd stick w/ the Service Grade and deal w/ it down the road through Customer Service.

Once purchased, it becomes personal property... followed by a private sale of said property... blessed by Orest at the CMP.

I will do that and upgrade if they don't come in on time.

On July 12, the CMP received my order for a HRA SG. Then over the weekend I saw on the website that they could be as long as 180 days out. That would be into January of next year so curbside delivery would be over. So I emailed customer service and said I wanted to upgrade to the HRA Service Grade Special (RM1HRASSP) because the delivery was 60 days faster according to the website. On August 13, I got a call from Customer Service. I coughed up an additional $325 on my CC. It arrived 48 hours later (today). It's a beauty. The metal looks darn close to new. MW 1+, TE 1+.

It is what it is. There's no way to keep people from reselling, either "on purpose" or just maybe going a little crazy and then the first time they need some cash or room in the safe the least favorite Garand goes. Either way the CMP gets their asking price and they get into the hands of private citizens where they belong.

Personally I picked up an extra service grade early this year thinking I'd have the option of either keeping it or selling it depending on how I like it. As it turns out it's too nice to sell. :-)

Then again I'm not much one for selling guns. I really should sell 3-4 of the Mosins before the end of the year but I'm just not that motivated to get off my butt and do it.

Credit card hit today for both of my rifles. With delivery likely next week that is effectively 4 months from DBU to delivery. That is why people are saying that if you don't have your order in now it isn't likely to be filled before the end of the year.

Who said that I am disposing of the other 3 at a profit ?
Did it ever occur to you that some of my immediate family will be getting a few at cost ?

Maybe you should find out the facts before you start flaming people and start shootin' off your keyboard.
