J&G and many others have the Soviet surplus ammo. It's corrosive though, so more frequent inspections of the gun are in order, in addition to some extra cleaning.

And yeah, the Prvi ammo is anemic. The recoil is next to nothing thouh. Fiocchi is loaded hotter.

        FYI
Angeles Reloading Store has 7.62 Nagant new brass, bullets, and Lee die sets.

          Do you have a C&R?

If so you're buying your .32ACP @ the wrong place. Graff's is by far the best place to buy if you have a C&R. About $11 shipped; at least that's what mine worked out to be.
          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I did have my C&R and COE, and just applied for a new one about a week ago. I had to buy the .32 ACP at a range that only allowed lead free primer ammo. 1 box @ $26.95 per box! (Support your LGS!)

Thanks I will look into Graff's, I also have been looking for some ruski Nagant ammo to see how different it shoots.

On the 32 S&W and 32 S&W Long I wouldn't shoot that in a Nagant. IMO there is Too Much play with this ammo in the cylinder for me. I can understand why there are complaints of bulging cases. Just sayin

It IS corrosive, but since the cartridge gas-seals on the barrel only the barrel ever gets dirty. It's seriously the easiest revolver I've ever cleaned.

Windex blast the barrel after removing the cylinder, clean the barrel, wipe the gun and you're done

Probably not worth it's own thread, and this one seems appropriate.

Any easy way to remove the cosmoline from these things? I always used paper towels on rifles, but this this thing has a lot more nooks and crannies.

I am tempted to just take it to the sink and hose it down with hot water.

Sorry for the cell phone photo:

                Thanks,

I always use mineral spirits and it literally just melts it away. I just pour a bit in a pan and use a cheap paintbrush or toothbrush to paint it on.
I have a bread pan from the dollar store that is perfect size to work on the Mosin Nagants, bolt and magazine parts.

I would think that would work well for that Nagant, that thing is soaking in cosmoline! hah

Just remove all the grip parts first...

Make sure to coat the whole thing in oil after because the mineral spirits will totally degrease it.

Oh and I recently tried a power steam cleaner... while its great on carpets it was way slower then mineral spirits..

                  BTW Congrats!

I just used a pan, mineral spirits, an old toothbrush and q-tips and a pipe cleaner. The cosmo melted away with the spirits. It took a little while due to all the nooks and crannies, but that's part of the fun!

It's fun to shoot, and the milsurp ammo is gtg - feels about like shooting .38spl, although the grip takes some getting used to. Double action is comical, though. I don't think the gauges go high enough to measure the pull. Maybe a scale for weighing deep-sea fish like marlin would give an accurate reading?

I know this is an old thread but I'll ad my $.02. A very veteran reloader friend of mine has turned me on to using Starline 32-20 brass and .313 100gr lead semi wad cutters. He says it must be Starline as others might bind. I shot his revolver and it was very very nice. Of course you lose the gas seal.
I ordered brass and projectiles this evening and already have the dies.
