I'm just waiting on my C&R license to be processed. Once that's done, I'll be putting in the order for my first Garand. I can't wait!

      What's a C&R?

Curio & Relic FFL. It's an FFL license that's designed for people who wish to build their own personal collection of older (50 years old and older) firearms. I'll be able to buy C&R firearms (as long as they're CA-legal) directly from retailers & distributors and not have to go through an FFL. So M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, K98s, all that stuff...I'm gonna go broke!

Sweet. But you don't need the C&R at the CMP.

Speaking of going broke...I just did a bit o' math and noticed I was closing in on 10k in the last 3.75 years on this collection...took me over a decade to spend that much on musical equipment. Guess I like guns more now.

Correct, but it's one of the criteria that I could use toward qualifying myself to purchase rifles through the CMP. I'm not really ready for shooting in matches yet...not enough experience or trigger time with my M14. I'm already a member of a CMP-affiliated organization, so the C&R license fulfills the "Marksman or other Firearms Related Activity" criteria.

A lot of people don't know but HSC fulfills the requirement as well. GCA and HSC = GTG.

                  Yeah. I don't have an HSC because I am P.C. 832 exempt.

Badmusic, you should be receiving yours soon. I just received mine on Friday 10/5. It took 17 days to receive my Service Grade HRA from when I dropped the paperwork in the mail.

In case you all don't know, big O said starting Wednesday a handful of 6M SA will be available. I'm mailing my order overnight first thing in the morning.
