Very few made and have all the updates. Still IMO the HRAs are still slightly better than even the 6Ms.

Did you send it overnight? I did not know about it till I read on Ask Orest Saturday after the post office closed. I will overnight mine on Tuesday.

Well, Not only does it fire the 30-06 cartridge, but also all its parts are interchangeable w/ every other M1 Garand. Pretty cool, huh?

Since you are buying a U.S. RIFLE CAL .30 M1, you might as well learn it so I recommend GCA for $25/year and they can forward your membership info to CMP if you tell them.

Here we go again. And where did you get this fact? Rumors been going around but no confirmation from big O yet. He gave several hints but nothing is concrete. My advice is have your money and order form ready to so when O announces it you will not miss the boat like I did with the 6M SA being released this week.

Badmusic, you should be receiving yours soon. I just received mine on Friday 10/5. It took 17 days to receive my Service Grade HRA from when I dropped the paperwork in the mail.

That sounds about right and good news. I keep checking my e mail ten times a day.

I only just received my first H&R M1 Garand last Monday, and now this announcement shows up. I've got the funds, but I don't, if you know what I mean. So, is this really a golden moment in M1 history? Will I eventually hate myself for passing this up?

Handgun Safety Certificate

Easiest way to qualify for lazy people (like me). GCA (Internet) and Handgun Safety Certificate will do it. I was told that the CMP wants to sell rifles to shooters, they aren't going to be SUPER picky about qualifications. GCA helps to support the CMP as an organization and they know if you have an HSC, you at least have a slight clue so that you won't shoot yourself.

I tried getting two ranges to sign off and the employees at the ranges treated the CMP sign off like it was a scam, they were giving me the run around so I investigated and Handgun Safety Cert will do. Not sure about the Hunters Safety Card?
