For collectibility, I would vote Russian, Albanian, or Romainian. They are true C&R and cash and carry. Next would be Yugos and Norincos, still very desirable but not cash and carry. They are better if you plan to shoot it, but the Yugo does not have a chrome lined barrel-keep in mind cleaning ESPECIALLY if you use corrosive surplus ammo

        Hello,

Please realize that if you start down this road, you're going to have to make it 922r legal or you're in violation.

Alterations will also exempt it from being C&R eligible.

That said, it's your rifle and you do what you want with it. I do not like the Tapco stuff; when I did mine I used a Bakelite stock I found and Tech-Sights. I put a rail on the front handguard but not to mount anything; it was a fast acquisition Guttersight type principle.

Yeah I can get 400 yards Iron Sights with my Full length Romy and 300 with my Para. Hmmm I wouldn't try 500 with Iron Sights thought because its only a commie weapon lol :P

As soon as I start bubba-fying my SKS rifles, I might as well go all the way to doucheville and sport the flat billed hat, white framed sunglasses, and giant brodozer.

                Curious...

as to how you can call anything from TAPCO an "upgrade"...

They're the JC Whitney of gun parts.

dont douchify your rifle. keep it as it was meant to be (typical C&R forum response i know). if you want a rifle with a scope on it... get one that was supposed to have it.
I wouldn't scope it but a red dot quick acquisition sight would be a good match. I picked up a yugo with a see through receiver rail mount already swapped and tech sights. Tech sights seem great but it's not centered yet.

The aftermarket stocks look functional but everything I've read about them says they feel like crap. Not to mention a little refinishing on the stock wood goes a long way with the aesthetics.
