    Probably one more time

I want to purchase a shotgun circa 1926 side by side from a C&R seller, I have no license. Can he ship to an FFL without obtaining a CFLC#? Just package and ship?

    What's a CFLC?
    You in Ca?
Shipping to a FFL is usually not the problem.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

He can ship it right to you. C&R long guns do not need to go through a 01 FFL.
      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Bruce, the CFLC program is set up for CA dealers to have guns shipped to them. Even ffl's in CA need to get and approval letter from the CFLC program to ship to a ffl in CA.

BTW my comment earlier is based on you being a CA resident.

No, he can't ship it right to you, if what you mean by "I have no license" is that you don't have a C&R FFL.

Pay him a deposit to hold it for a month, and apply for your C&R. You will probably have it by the end of January, and will save quite a bit on the transfer screwing from the 01FFL.

Then, he can ship it directly to you.

It doesn't need to go through an 01 FFL. C&R Long guns 50 years old or older can be sold FTF or via mail.

then what's the point of a c&r besides just a few discounts from vendors?

You are assuming that the seller is also a California resident. The OP hasn't made that clear yet.

Wolfy the C&R FFL lets you buy firearms from other states.

No, you only mentioned the OP (buyer) being a California resident. Both parties to the transaction would need to be California residents in order to avoid an FFL on the buyer's end.

I am a CA resident. The seller/C&R holder is on the east coast. He wants only to send the gun direct to a CA FFl without any additional hassle or paperwork. He thinks he has to apply for CA DOJ CFLC# or get an okay (wait time) prior to shipping. He also believes that he must have an FFl in his state send the gun.

I'm reading the "ca" in the OP as being in CA.
