You're right. I'm sorry for contributing to the long and violent history of abuse and ridicule that owners of gold AKs have faced in the world. I feel especially bad about it because gun owners are believed by the general public to be particularly intolerant of difference, notably anything that tends towards the ownership of a gold AK. I don't want Calguns to be a place where someone would feel like they were not welcome to participate simply because they own a gold AK. I will change my public behavior accordingly.

Yep. This is totally why I come to calguns. It makes me feel so welcome and like I'm joining in a community with thoughtful adults.

I'm really not sure what you mean by mentioning that there is more than one meaning of the word gay. Could you explain?

1. a : happily excited : merry <in a gay mood> b : keenly alive and exuberant : having or inducing high spirits <a bird's gay spring song>
2. a : bright, lively <gay sunny meadows> b : brilliant in color

The term was originally used to refer to feelings of being "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy"

You forget that there is more than one meaning for the word gay and because other people assumed that I meant it in the way you thought I meant it you feel I offended you and the group of people you fell you belong to.

What offends me is that there are groups of people that feel that they are the only ones that may use certain words and that when anyone else uses them it is in a spiteful way.

Because you do not know all the definitions of the word gay you; and others, immediately thought that I was attacking a group of people and you attacked my character. This offended me.

Which brings me to the second thing I said before. Because of your lack of knowledge of the word gay you; and many others, feel that they are the only ones that may use the word because if anyone else uses it it is in a spiteful way. This too offends me.

How freaking disappointing this thread turned out to be. Went from a very good question every C&R holder should know and went straight to PC hell. Good grief, I can't imagine why someone would feel it necessary to thread jack with the intent to defend a group of people who, honestly, don't need you to defend them. On topic, I have ceracoted a couple of C&Rs and they turned out great. High Powers look great with the two-tone. Please, just don't do it to a 1st gen Colt SAA.

I promise I wont do it to a 1st Gen Colt SAA. I was looking at a Fabrique Nationale (SP?). I thought might be a great way to get rid of the unwanted proof markings.
