Dave is pretty busy with his loadmaster training. I'll give you the Readers Digest version. Last year Dave bought a MN 91/30 at Big 5. Just before he left for the Air Force he bought a 98k from Big 5. It came off the 10 day wait the day he left. This was in Feb. of this year. since then I started buying guns, 9 in total. He hasn't had leave, so he hasn't been home to see or shoot any of them. He has bought 8 more guns from various sources, most of which he has sent home. One the Argentine Mauser, he bought and has never seen.
He will be home for Christmas. That will give us a chance to get most of these out to the range. Funny how this common hobby of ours developed as he was leaving. Now when we talk, guns are always part of the conversation. He's much more knowledgable than I am and has a better memory than I do. Hopefully he'll have time to fill in the details.
      Because milsurp.

I gotcha. My Dad was a loadmaster from '69-'77 on C-141's. I almost did the same, but my parents wanted me to go in as an officer. I shouldn't have listened to them...

Right now you don't really need a COE if you have an 03, but it does have a few benefits. The 03FFL and COE combo lets you cash-and-carry C&R long guns from CA FFLs. It also gets you out of the 1-in-30 rule for handguns.

If AB809 goes into effect in 2014, then you'll need the COE to get long guns shipped to you.

If you buy a C&R rifle from a California dealer with a C&R licence and a COE you can take it home same day, still have to DROS but don't have to do the 10 day wait.

If AB 809 sticks you will need a COE to go with your C&R after Jan 1 2014 to get a C&R rifle shipped to your door.

Some dealers will take the C&R + COE to make you exempt from the 1 handgun in 30 day rule.

10 days till I get my Zastava M57 Tokarev. It's so full of cosmo, when the slide is released it slides forward at a crawl; will be a fun cleanup.

Wow, what a task ahead. I may have a 91/30 and Yugo SKS bubba in my future for some inexpensive projects. OHOD styling, here I come.

Picked up my SCW Mosin Nagant Dragoon today. The rifle is in great shape but something is definitely up with the firing pin.

I'm going to replace the firing pin and bolt head, that should restore the bolt to working condition.

There are some crappy cellphone pics here. Going to fish out my real camera for a shoot soon.

I just ordered an M44 and HEx 91/30 from AIM. I am really looking forward to getting them! Finally popping the cherry on my C&R!

How long is the shipping typically?
