with this recent drought of Yugo ammo for the mosin, i don't think i'll be shooting my yugo ammo and just wait till rainy days to shoot the steel core surplus ammo at burro when they allow it.

Boxer primed ammo is standard in the U.S., so it's what the whole reloading hobby is set up to use. Berdan primed ammo is what is standard in most of the rest of the world. But foreign ammo manufacturers will often make boxer primed ammo for the U.S. commercial market.

I'm assuming that if we get some rain this winter, that this wont 'be an issue at outdoor ranges anymore? Say maybe in Dec. or Jan?

Don't count on it--if you shoot at Angeles--rain during the winter makes no
difference.They have not allowed any magnetic projectiles for many years,
regardless of rainfall totals. Pete

Really depends on where you shoot. Next time your at your range ask the RM what their rules are.

Well the day after the first rain of the season last week ( wednesday ) , I called Burro Canyon if the're going to allow magnetic ammos since the area was fairly soaked. The answer was a resounding No. I think I will just go Privi Partizan way until such time when the temperature in the desert goes down to comfortable level.
