America was a greater nation back then!

Our SMGs shot out to 600 yards and our service rifles hit out beyond 1000 yards.




Now our SMGs might get to 50 yards and our service rifles can hit out to 200yards.

I'm not an expert on WWII firearms, but I believe I have an explanation.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that the 1921/28 Thompson sights are the same sights they used on the Browning Automatic Rifle, hence the 600 yard mark.

Nobody really expects to shoot a .45 ACP at 600 yards.

Hey if my sights are calibrated for that distance I try it at least once.
