I really could not say it was more accurate then my Swedish Mauser or my M39 rifle (with the right 7.62x54r load). The K31 was in the same ball park accuracy wise for me. This is based on my limited experience with the K31.....
Ever thought about one of these? Changes LOP to what you want and doesn't change the rifle.

        So I saw for myself....

Here is my first time shooting a K-31.

That's a 3 shot group out of 6, first time shooting the gun. With Gewehrpatrone 11.

        That is all.

        I've seen for myself.

Say, is a walnut stocked numbers matching K-31 a good deal if its under $300?

Now I need to see if Ukko-Pekkas will live up to their hype as well....

Oh, and I thought Chabot was a lovely place. There were less than 4 people shooting there this afternoon.

If you have a C&R you can order one from aim for about 270 otherwise $300 would probably be what you would pay from private party. I would hit the gun shows. You can find them there but not many like 2 or 3 at most haven't seen many on calguns recently.

I got the Enfield and Mosins for that.

This is a nice range rifle though, really digging it (though it's still an ugly betty).

I dunno, Gunboat. My Dad has a number of Swiss Army type films from the 40's and those preparedness excercises the Awiss Army went though in the mountains and valleys during the war shows those rifles being used in the harshest winter conditions and mud.
Nobody fired back, but it was battlefield conditions for them. They sure didn't baby those rifles.

Walnut or beech, which one leads to a more accurate rifle?

Literally no difference. They were all walnut till the war dried up the walnut wood supply.

Right now I'm in the process if I want to really get one of these...doing research and rationalization, but all the prospects for them sound good.
They are made from a waxed carboard, I think with little bits of metal around the top to seat in the action area. I haven't really used those, but don't have alot of faith in them. I've only used two of the 5 (6?) round all metal box magazines and love them. Wish somebody would make a larger magazine for it, it would be pretty sweet, at least in looks.

Well picking mines up from a former Cal Gunner tomorrow but I sent my Uncle an e-mail who lives in Swiss land and has been there since I was born. He is a huge military weapons guy ie, He saw my Toy Me-109 and he was like 12 years old again. So I am looking forward to what he says.

I think what makes them so sexy is the strait bolt and is it me or the knob looks like a mini keg?
