Dang! Now you got me thinking about a K31 & I haven't quite saved up enough for a Garand!.......
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

What other rifle does its country of origin sponsor shooting qualifications in a foreign country?
That's right you can get your own Swiss shooting medal!

I'm a lefty and I use my right hand to operate the bolt just fine. As far as I can tell the lefty conversion is reversible, p.m. Latigo for more info for the lefty conversion kit, he/they own Swiss Products which makes most of the fine K31 accessories.

Well......they are interesting because they are accurate (but not world beaters), have great triggers, have a nearly unique action, and were guaranteed never fired in anger. It has always bothered me that the GP11 comes in 10 round boxes and the mag holds 6..........what's up with that? I used to have half a dozen, and kept one, my birth year. I won't keep it much longer.

            Craftsmanship.

None of this "K98 is German so it must be like a BMW" non sense. Or Garands because they are all American! lol Then we overlook flaws (although Garands are pretty flawless).

K31s are masterpieces of durability and precision. It's like comparing your Timex Indago with an Omega Seamaster or Rolex DayDate.

The crazy thing is can get a k31 for a couple hundred where the gun should sell for $1000.

I need to get me more K31s!

Wait wait, so is being left-handed a deal breaker?

Couldn't I reach over with my left hand and cycle the bolt like I do with my Mosin?

You can certainly do that, that's what I do with my Mosin and Yugo. But for some reason I use my right hand with the K31.

Not in the slightest...I'm a lefty and I think the straight-pull bolt is easier to work than a "normal" bolt.

Quit trying to talk your way out of this deal! Just buy one already!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.

Yeah... just buy one! This little gem couldn't be a deal breaker.

Quick questions, so what is the average going rate for these? What is considered a good deal? And where should I be trying to source one from? Also is there any difference in construction such as different stocks, finishes I should be looking for?

I have come to accept shooting my 8mm to a clean loss against the K31's and Swedes...those things dominate the matches. I have been consistently shooting high 20's, low 30's with military ball.

I think I was the only guy shooting the big 8 last time though.

Check Allan's Armory from time to time, I bought my second one on his last batch $215 shipped to my door with a case.

So these things actually shoot .308" bullets exactly?

Can you load them up with those match grade 168grain SMKs and such?
