Mine was too, changed out the cartridge lifter to a .22 Short for about $30 so I could find ammo to shoot. With HiSpeed Shorts and that long barrel, all you hear is the hammer hit the firing pin.
If you can find one, and then "afford" one, the lifter from a Model 1906, 62, or 62A drops in and feeds Short, Long, and Long rifle, but.....the barrel twist is too slow for LR.
I left ya clean up instructions with some links in your other post.

Nicer than mine, yours still has blue left! Shoot it yet? You can still find CCI CB Longs.

Made about March-April of 1919, with 26,380 made that year.
Phrogger, scroll up to post #853 for the survey link on 92's that Michael is doing. He can give you the exact day it was made, and likely how it left the factory.

Hey Trap! I picked up another winchester that I could use some help on. It might not be old enough.

I have about 9-10 old Winchester lever guns that I'd be curious to know about.

But, I don't want to take advantage of the incredible service you are doing for the community. Is there a place where I might make a donation to you to say thanks and compensate you for the time/info I'd be after?

                                Thank you!
