Ok, so my dad bought me a PPSH-41 with 3 71 rd mags at a gun show this last weekend for my B-day, Its in Washington State, what do I need to do to get it here, and what do I need to do to make it legal here?

Nice! You should be good to go with any pre ban hi cap mags you own legally. That being said I have heard that they feed off stick mags more reliably than the drums, something the Russians didn't get quite right when they stole the design from the Finns.

Should be good to go as the overall length is about 34", no need for mag lock, should have the 16" barrel and 922r parts. Which one is it (TNW, AA, or Wiselite)?

AFAIK, a semi-auto PPSH-41 would be featureless, so you don't need to do anything special to make it CA-legal. So, justh ave him box up the rifle and have it sent to your local FFL (check with him first to make sure he will accept the transfer from a non-licensee). YOu'll go to your FFL and DROS it after paying whatever fees he wants to do the transfer. Thats it, you now own it. Regarding the mags, have you father break them down into parts kits and send them directly to you. YOu would then need to figure out how to make them 10-rounders before you assemble them.Jack

Good dad. Its a featureless rifle like the Suomi M31 so no bullet button required. Get some 10rd mags and you're good to go.Comment

Its Russian from what he's told me and "it looks like it was sitting in a warehouse since it entered Berlin in 45". He hasnt sent me pictures yet, he said its my B-Day gift so I dont even get it until December

I am not aware of any Russian semi-auto PPSh-41's, so it is gonna probably be one of these, TNW, AA, or Wiselite, as mentioned above.Jack
