why is everyone still posting in this thread? the argument is moot. there are just as many it seems, for and against. everyone of course thinks they're right, thinks they said the most clever thing, but only a few have actually made intelligent, un-biased comments. The vast majority of insults are coming from you. It would be wonderful if some one would just ban you as you have nothing clever, intelligent or otherwise amusing to say.

Actually Since I am the original poster, Mods please do not close this thread. Instead please warn people whon are only seeming to post to raise their post counts that Intelligent posting is required.

What Unbiased posts have you made Knucklehead? We can keep this thread K.I.S.S. but obviously you wont get it. 95% of the Name calling has come from the side desiring to keep sporterizing here. Im sorry I'll call a baby or a gun ugly, Im not politically correct. So if someone doesnt want me to give my opinion on their their "moderized" or "sporterized" Formerly but no longer C&R rifle they should post it somewhere else or expect some negative comments and not get butt hurt about it.

many highly sought-after milsurp rifles these days are essentially sporters. Steyr M95 carbines are mostly long rifles that were "bubba'd" into carbines, Mosin 91/59s, Carcano carbines, etc. you'll probably contend that they were done by government arsenals a long time ago, but so were many great sporting rifles that are here now.

And I don't seem to recall the government taking (at the time) front line military rifles out of service, just so they could turn them into sporters.

don't try to bend things your direction. many rifles that were already out of service were brought back in, rechambered, etc. 8mm mauser m95 carbines, 8 mauser carcanos and so on. tell me that's not "sporterizing" a military rifle. anybody who "appreciates history" should understand that it's an ever-changing animal and they've modified existing weapons to fit their needs. mas 49/56's rechambered to .308? didn't work well but by damn they did it didn't they? mas 36/51 with a grenade launcher? i have one. is it just another "bubba" sporter i own? i guess ignorance really is bliss. enjoy it. the rest of us will enjoy our "worthless" crappy rifles while you feel good about yourselves. grow up.

No, those aren't sporterized rifles. That was done by their respective governments in an attempt to field an improved service rifle.

may be should all walk away. how ever much i hate to see mosin Mauser or m1903's chopped to pieces and modified by bubba or sports by various types of people.we are getting to a pretty low point here, not to speak of any ones intelligence or personal preference. some people like doing things their way and refuse to see things from a different perspective. fine, we all have are personal preferences. i know earlier i was trash talking bubbas and sporters.
we all have needs and budgets, im a broke college kid, so 54r and spagetti'O. i need some thing accurate and hard hitting to get boar: m91/30 remove cosmo and kick some a**, its ready for my use. it serves my needs just fine.
i cant push my views on others and other should refrain pushing theirs on me. This argument includes people from both sides of the argument with equal feelings in different direction. we buy them, they are ours.
there are other forums on the web that if you make a slight vague reference or misspeak or are misunderstood your run off with a lynch mob(*Cough* RMNF) we have the privilege of speaking our minds here. lets all bow out and just keep to our own likings and such. im not going to go look at a sporter thread, but if i see one in person and the guy gets up in my face about how much cooler his is than mine, ill probably call him a D Bag and him and to go F&*( him self.
we need not create a divide while we are all in the same virtual space. if the admins make a C&R mod forums, great IMHO but my opinion means jack squat. in all probability these not going to be one, how ever much half of us want one. lets all cool off a bit and just pick and choose our interests and view things accordingly. trolling is not a crime, its just a misdemeanor against common sense.
