seems like I might have Struck a Nerve with some people. For those arguing about that it shouldnt be changed to quote the subtitle for the C&R /blackpowder forums
Curio & Relics and Black Powder Firearms, Old School shooting fun!
What is "old school" about this??? this is a picture from a post on sporterizing a mosin in the C&R forums, how is this /does this qualify as C&R???

I posted this over in the other thread, but it might get lost in the shuffle. Maybe you could add another option to the poll?

      Here's what I wrote:

I can pretty much guarantee that anyone coming to the forum for sporterizing advice is going to head straight for the C&R category anyway, so how about keeping it in C&R, but making a subcategory for sporterizing like the "C&R Gallery"? That way, it's kept off the main page so the purists don't have to look at it, but it's still in the C&R category, where everyone goes anyway.

Forgive me if this was covered in the posts above. I skimmed and skipped a lot of what was up there.

While I agree with the ideal here; I think you're being a little anal.

Most of the gunsmithing stuff concerns AK's and AR's, so C&R questions get lost.

so the C&R forum will become a small 7.62x54r.net?

I actually started it after a guy in the mosin sporter post tried to tell me I was trolling. So how am I being anal for having an opinion? Should I embrace every hackjob mosin that has pic posted here, cheer at every chopped up mauser?? You tell me, I dont want to be anal?

If the Gunsmithing posts get lost in the AK and AR gunsmithing questions then it wasnt meant to be LOL

Noonanda that's my picture and you didn't strike a nerve with me so please lets be clear on who and what we are addressing. As I said I agree with both sides, but if you don't want to read a post about sporterizing.... why read the post? This is not the 7.62 forums. Purposely going into those threads and complaining is childish and anal. Having your opinion is fine... shouldn't others be allowed to express theirs?

yes they should be allowed to have their opinion. But as the rifles are no longer C&R eligible they no longer belong in the C&R forums. If I went over to centerfire rifles and posted about my blackpowder pistol they would tell me to come here or the post would get moved here. well if a post is about a rifle that is not C&R why is it ok to be here? honest question, if a Rifile is not C&R as defined by Federal C&R laws, why would we have it in the C&R forums?

As I stated in the poll, I used your rifle picture as an example of a rifle that no longer qualifies as a C&R by federal law, there was no offense intended. If you want me to post a pic of my .308 mauser that no longer qualifies as well I can. But not here in the C&R forums as it is not C&R

Cool, I responded there as well, I saw some post a comment to maybe make a sub category in the C&R. I think thats a great idea.

The subforum idea is a good one. I'm afraid though that it will get very little traffic and that threads won't get the attention they deserve.

Well if we give it as much attention as these threads we shouldn't have a problem .

Seriously... if it would help with "unit cohesion" I am willing to help.

I can go for a subforum as well, I still disagree on the C&R aspect but its better than pissing up a rope everytime

Is there really that many threads being started about sporterizing? and the ones that are seem to be pretty popular.
