I have no clue. All I know is their website shows field grade H&R and Springfields available for $650.

I placed an order on July 6 with priority mail. I sent CMP a Facebook message a month later and told me they were behind about 2 months. According to CMP forums people are getting their guns on average 4 months in.

So more likely I’ll be getting it sometime in January.

Good luck, hopefully it comes sooner!

They had really sped up by the time I got mine, only took 9 months.

And you only got one rifle. Ever.

Now get off my lawn you punk kids.

A rifle well worth the wait! I got a service grade back in 2019 and it's been one of my favorite C&Rs to have.

Not sure if I got lucky or this is true, but I had read somewhere that if you leave a sticky note in your letter, they will try to honor it. In mine I asked for good barrel quality and preferably lower serial number (WW2-era production); they sent me one with a nearly perfect barrel (although re-barrelled in the 50's) and 1942 production date so I consider that a win!

As for dates, hopefully this gives you an idea based off my experience (though I'm not sure how much their processing times have changed over the last 2 years):

1/17/19 - Order Placed in Mail
1/24/19 - Check Deposited by CMP
1/31/19 - Confirmation Email Received by CMP
                  2/04/19 - Shipment Confirmation Received
                  2/05/19 - Rifle Received

So all in all it took about 2.5 weeks for the CMP to process everything and get my rifle over to me.

To the above question about them being out of the Philippine returns, I dont know. I will say I got a 6 digit SA with a danish VAR barrel, which would be consistent with a danish return, but i have no way of actually proving that. Unfortunately pretty much every cmp rifle i reveive in the last two years has had new wood instead of usgi wood.

Mine took 12 months but it only cost $94.30 so well worth the wait. I got mine in '82. May '45 SA. 12-65 SA barrel.
RRAD rebuilt 7-66. It still had the paper straw in the barrel.

Neighbor ordered a Service Grade end of March. Arrived end of Sept (last week). So this was about 6 months.

Shuff's parkerizing will rebarrel a stripped garand about as cheap as humanly possible if you can wait 3 months.
Provided it came with a serviceable ww2 barrel, I would not rebarrel a garand unless it was thrashed beyond repair.

I rebarreled one I've had for 1/4 century after realizing the chamber was.. wide. Brass could not be reused after firing once... didn't bother me when I didn't reload, bothers me now.

Shuff's did that one- it's probably my best shooting Garand now.

I am still waiting two 18 months and counting for my Shiloh Sharps. Haha. I ordered a M-1 Garand in .308 from the CMP and I think it was about 2 months at the time. Seemed a lot longer!
