How much for the Yugo rework?

That would definitely be cool to see for a yugo rework. Type 53s are always so ugly I've been on the hunt for a clean one

I cannot remember exactly what I paid for the Yugo M44 rework, but IIRC about $350 - $400. I read that most or all of the Yugos have a lined out butt plate. Here are photos:

I got mine for 2k from another user on here.

Empire arms bought another from the same user and sold it for 2.8k couple years ago

These are not as rare or expensive as people think, I know of five or so that sold in the last couple of months (not including those mentioned in the post above), four of those sold in the $600-$800 range, the most expensive was $1550.

Two were on gunbroker, $800 and $1550

Almost forgot, there is another 48M, the "ZP" smg (copy of the Soviet PPSh-41 submachine gun) made by the Danuvia plant

And that's just the rifles, there are also several Hungarian pistols called the "48M"

                    The 48M - BR 1
                    The 48M - BR 2 (Walam)
                    The 48M - TT

The one you used for price comparison is a beat up non matching example? The other is nicer, but that stock looks sanded based on the weak Buttstock markings.

As for rarity by Mosin standards Hungarian 91/30 are pretty damn rare. Millions of Russian vs 50,686 Hungarian? Even compared to Hungarian M44 there was 160,000 M44 made. More importantly how many M44 were imported vs 91/30 Hungarians? How many Hungarian 48.M (Minta) Infantry (Hadipuska) do you have in your collection?

Dennis Kroh sold one for $2850 and another for $2500. I have not seen a matching top condition example sell for less than $1600. Well used, not all matching $800-$1200.

Your numbers are (partially) very wrong, as is your conclusion. There were quite a few more GL1's made than GL1K's. They are rarer in the US only because not as many were imported, so far. There are still quite a few GL1's in other countries that can be imported, some in all matching, pristine unissued condition (note the proof/import marks on the two auctions I posted). I suggest you double check your sources (although I'm pretty sure I know what mistake you/your source made here)

So your info is better than Laszlo's . I corrected my estimates and added the 686 before you quoted and gave him credit for the info you posted. To think they made more 91/30 than M44 style doesn't even make sense. Since by that point in the 1950s almost all militaries had switched to shorter rifles.

Yes they are in other countries, but no they are not common there. Yes they sell for less there, import some and see how much the import costs add to your total.

Maybe you can pop over to my Urguayan Mauser post, thread crap there as well, and tell me how they aren't that rare.

And just read the $1550 sale, which is more like $1700 after shipping and taxes, seller states no import mark. So the seller defaced the import mark and reblued it. While legal it is certainly unethical and I would not buy from the seller. I'm sure others felt the same.
