Where is the "Other Comments" box under?? Was it in that section where you check all boxes reasoning for coe? collector box was auto checked for me, I upload DL, paid the $22. I guess I'll get a rejection

It's the comments box for the "Other" category under "Business Type". The exact wording on the comment box is "Explain Business Type Other".

I checked the boxes for "Collector" and "Other" and then just typed my 03 number in the comment box.

If I remember correctly, it would not let me write anything in the comment box unless I had also checked the box for "Other" business type. I believe it gave me an error message when I tried to only check "Collector" and write in the box. If you don't also check the "Collector" box, I imagine they might bounce you for that since you just posted an 03 license number. So I would check both boxes, and I did.

Gotcha. I didn't pay attention to the Business Type category section as Collector was already checked so I thought I was done there. Anyhow, guess I'll get a bounce back. Thanks

Please provide your Federal Firearms License (FFL) Type 03 Collector of Curios and Relics FFL number in the comment field. If you do not have an FFL03, please indicate the reason for wanting a COE in the comment field.
The information requested should be submitted by logging into the CFARS application https://cfars.doj.ca.gov and navigating to Certificate of Eligibility and selecting "COE Transaction History". If you have any questions, please use the Report an Issue feature in the CFARS application.

I submitted my COE on February 8th and received an email from the DOJ stating that I need to provide my FFL-03. I submitted it today hopefully I will receive my COE by next week.

Look at post #63 from SkyHawk on how to put your FFL03 number and expiration date into your PROFILE section, not just the comments.

I did both and was approved within 4 hours of resubmitting.
Maybe I caught the brass ring or the agent was cleaning up before going on vacation but something went right.

Renewal sent in 3/2 without FFL03 number. Response demanding number came within 24 hours. Immediately sent FFL03 number in with a question as to where it was stated on their submission form that it needed to be sent in OR where in the civil code it stated it was required. Renewal came on 3 /8 - 6 days over all - with no response to inquiry.

In the "fat chance" department, I guess they are not going to change unless the courts or legislature makes them.

I got my COE in exactly 5 weeks. I had to provide a FFL03 but got it the very next day.

COE expire in April 15, 2021
3/8 renewal processed
3/9 renewal rejected (03 number was not submitted)
3/9 submit 03 #
3/19 Approved

So . . . . 11 days.

The DOJ keeping adding **** on. First they wanted my 03 ffl license. And now they want my DL. They even sent me a little letter saying “since July 1, 2019...this is a requirement”. Well you didn’t require this before. And they have my DL on file. They are just playing stupid.

They are not that stupid, they just want you to quit. It would take less than a day to change the form and add in everything they wanted. If they did this then you would be done in one application.

Another thing that will bite you: every year when your COE renews, be sure and update the "COE Expiration" date in your CFARS profile, or you will have acquisition reports kicked back if you don't catch it. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at DOJ

Last year Newsom put a temporary extension for Class A holders whose Medical Exam was going to expire. DOJ told me there was something going on with my Valid DL and I had to contact DMV. After playing phone tag with different DMV departments they told me their system said my DL and medical exam I had turned in showed up Valid-pending review, even though I physically had a receipt that it was processed. Fast forward today, I was not aware that they want your FFL03 number to renew your COE. I cannot find any wording that they require it now.

Mine is up in June, they let me pay for my renewal no issues with no docs requested. I guess I'll see if it kicks back.

Yep, kicked back for no FFL# in the comments section. That's new to me, you would think they would want you to reup your actual license.
