No, you have to mail off two copies, and the one that you mail (or deliver yourself if you must) to the CLEO stays with him/her or he does what he/she wants with it. It's merely informational and requires no action on his/her part. He can disregard, shred, or w/e he wants with it, it's just to inform him of your action to file for a FFL.

I have mine printed out and FINALLY ready to mail .
For such a simple form it I never found the time to just do it.

I have often wondered what the local CLEO does with the information. I am not expecting black helicopters , but this is California and I think that more than a couple of CLEO's would file the information for future reference.

sure, by maybe 2-3 days, the difference in time between next-day and first-class delivery.

Nah, you have to host at least one or two build parties for the black helicopter treatment. Not even joking.

So I have the whole thing filled out accept the Cleo. Does this have to be the chief of the whole city? I live in sandiego and I called the division that deals with my area but it's not where the chief is, the chief is at the headquarters for all sandiego. There's a captain in the division that deals with the area I live in. Any help would be great. I start work before the atf is open and get off after they close lol.
