Yeah sure there's some "rare" ones out there. Right now thousands of bubbas are scouring their tapco masterpieces with a magnifying glass hoping to find the perfect combination of markings that makes their peasant gun "rare".

Gotta keep the hype machine running, how else are the wholesalers going to keep their profit margins high? You know it costs money to feed a beer belly and keep their fat kids and wife happy. A triple bypass aint cheap.

Its got to be the greatest scam in history, all the poor commie bloc countries convincing the "capitalist pig" Americans with more disposable income than sense, that the 91/30 is "rare". Hahahaha.

For a second there I got excited because the bottom rifle looked like an M1903 but then I saw it was just the sling from the rifle above it.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some American wood and steel.

Still managed to sneak a Mosin in there

And P.S. if you ever decide to part with that HRA let me know, last maker I need to "complete" my Garand collection/obsession

I’m more apalled at the 98k prices because I consider them only marginally better than a Mosin. They’re both more like hunting rifles with those silly sights.

^ I hear ya, seems that is the case with most people who own them.

So far, all my Garands (and my carbine) have come from CMP.

If they get to the point of guaranteeing HRA service or field grade I'll get one from them. Past few years all I've seen are "luck of the draw Springfield or HRA" and I haven't seen enough HRAs coming out to try my luck with a magic sticky note request for HRA

Hopefully there are some HRAs in the 86,000 returns they are working through now

Order at least 3 SGs and ask for an HRA on a sticky. The last batch I ordered 3 of them and got the HRA LEAD rebuild with birch replacement stock that had the little LEAD triangle ink stamp on it. Of course it also had LEAD '65 stenciled on the receiver and a NM op rod. I totally got hooked up, didnt even ask for it, i just asked for GI wood as usual.

Sell the rifles you dont want and they will pay for the one you want to keep.
