Problem with the vertical mag, is your ejection would now be straight up (if lucky) or back into your forehead (if not).

I have never seen one done that way, but the way mine ejects to the side, I would not be a happy camper.

Since it's a homebuild, it's not worth about what all the parts cost less 10%.

Why would a home build be worth such a low amount? There are fine examples of home builds that are worth as much as comparable commercial builds. It really depends on the specific example.

There are several pieces of information which are required to be on it including your name, city and state, caliber and a SN. There are size and depth requirements too.

Can you site where these rules are located in Federal law? I have not seen any explicit requirements saying you need to engrave your name.
