    First World C&R Quandary...Input Requested..

    So here it is:

I acquired about 40 rounds of 8.56R surplus nazi marked ammo in a package deal of ammo. I don't own any rifles in that caliber. Should I look for a clean Steyr M95 or just sell the ammo? I know that surplus ammo in this caliber is in short supply. I am also aware this M95 is punishing to shoot, so I am torn.

What do you guys think? Any experience based commentary on the rifle platform would also be appreciated.

BR, I've got an M95 or two you can borrow and shoot, if you want to see what they're like.

They kick like a mule (especially with that Nazi-marked ammo). In fact, I'd be willing to sell one if you take a shine to it. A 1905 I think. Most importantly, it will come with a few chargers...otherwise you've got a single-shot

ETA: I've got a boatload of that Nazi ammo, too...much of it in boxes. I can't believe what it goes for nowadays on GB. Wow.

If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

I'd sell the ammo. No point in buying a gun for hard to find and expensive ammo. That's just my opinion however

That ammo and gun is a real pita from personal experience.

You really want to consider selling the ammo off!

Meh. Not worth buying the rifle for that. I mean, I like them and all. But just because you have 40 rounds? Nope. Especially not when the ammo is becoming more valuable as time goes by, so shooting it would be a waste.

Get an M95 rifle, not carbine. Problem solved. And carbines aren't as punishing to shoot as the .223 crowd would have you believe

8x56r rifles aren't that cheap. But either go that route or get an inexpensive carbine. Prvi maes the ammo so I'd just use that and keep that stuff as a collectible.
