Long range target, Thor and other conicals, blackhorn, traditional Hawken builds, the fact that the average muzzle loader front sight bead will cover an elephant's *** at 50 yards, out of state regs, patch n ball... draws... barrels, in lines... Let's get it going. Lots of ideas for front stuffers.

I use muzzleloadingforum.com when I discuss/look for information on muzzle loading. You must join to see the threads but it does not cost anything. While I support the effort of breaking off and having a separate forum, I am not sure how active it will be here on CG compared to other designated sites like the one I posted.

This subject could be categorized several ways.

I say let's try it and see what happens -

It so hard to find threads for BP in the forums, how about instead of just Black powder have a Muzzle loaders Forum and a cartridge forum, I think that would make everyone happy...

          wasn't thinking straight here..
          OK
Black powder forum with all related sub forums....

I wonder if they are ever going to move on this. The majority BP's are ready. Where in the 'H' is the sysop?? Or do they even give a damn...???

I'll add my voice for a separate BP forum.

                  1) Should it be within Curios and Relics when the growing market for BP is for new weapons? An original BP rifle is the in the $2500 range, and new weapons are from $150-1000 range. What will people most likely buy? With a separate forum, older weapons (true C&R and Antique) can still be discussed. Why not.

                  2) With a separate forum, there is even room for sub-sections--new and old flintlock and percussion.

                  3) A separate forum is also useful because the reduced licencing and legality problems means these topics would not have to be discussed--much. Legality wouldnt be dominating as in other forums, so finding useful shooter information and discussion would be easier.

                  4) People like me always liked BP but never got into it because of the expense and trouble. But this has changed now with the advent of lower cost, new weapons and im shopping right now for my first one.

                  5) It doesnt help to go to another BP forum located in another state because, for example right now, not all new muzzleloading ammo is legal in CA, like Powerbelts, so discussions about them in Kansas would confuse a CA shooter. Ammo discussion was the reason I came to the forum today--where would someone like me expect to find it?

                  6) Funny thing is, when I came today i thought there WAS a BP forum. I couldnt remember that there wasnt one. Hilarious.

                  7) Things have changed dramatically in the past five years in terms of weapons, ammo and gear. No longer is it general discussion about Revolutionary War days. There is very much, very specific info now, just look how Youtube is filling up.

I like Lyman, thats a great rifle, but im new and i think a CVA Wolf is more my style for the moment. Also, I want to buy a Traditions Blunderbuss kit. Im ready to buy the CVA when I can settle what ammo is legal in CA. Hickok45 was given a new Lyman and his video about it is interesting.

There are a lot of different areas that C&R can be split up into. Right now the original forum has been taken over by Milsurp's. Black powder only would be great. But... unfortunately the sysop's of Calguns don't read these posts, or they just don't give a damm....

64 Percent want it. Coming up on two years since request.
So I believe our inquiry is done.

You can list them in one of these two places.
                                1. On this forum under Collectors Exchange, or
                                2. The Market Place under hand guns.
But not both at same time. I would start in the Market Place first,
if no results try the other.
                                Good luck.
