I would even volunteer to become a moderator even though I don’t know exactly what the job requirements would be. I have never moderated before. But I think a black powder forum would be awesome.

Black powder flintlock and cap and ball need to be stand alone as this is a completely different species of shooters. Anything with a cartridge even if loaded with black powder need to stay with modern weapons. Between 1865 and 1870 they started converting and that should be the general break line for any division. Maybe a sub section for black powder cartridge guns for technical knowledge. Most people into these weapons are more history buffs than those looking to shoot Glocks, Sigs and semi auto pistol and rifles. Just my opinion.

Just getting into BP. Bought my first BP firearm, a Pietta 1860 Colt clone today. I would definitely like to see a separate forum.

Has anyone who has authority to make this happen even read this thread?

A few seconds typing a answer would not be that hard would it.

Just come in and type yes/no.

            Yes.
It's been a long while since I've done much. Percussion mostly.
Reading some of the CA bp rules and regs leads me to realize I'm missing out on our last, least regulated hobby that lobs things at targets by a black powder explosion.
            Design'm, make'm and choot'm.
            What's not to like?

Be wary of flintlocks. They tend to multiply.

My vote: separate BP forum, not offshoot of C&R

If I may permitted to chime in, I'd like to see a separate BP forum, one that's not

                under the current C&R forum.

                Thank you.

A black powder specific forum would be great! By the way I just bought another percussion Revolver. It is a reproduction Dance Brothers Revolver.

The years roll by and i still vote for a separate forum. BP is increasing in popularity and there is enough meat in this to create several sub-forums --traditional, modern, cannon, accoutrement, reloading, vendors, marketplace.....

Plus 100 again. My last several guns have been Black Powder type and I just bought an original 1845 Harpers Ferry Percussion Musket.

                        Still a yes for me,
I am just about done with a Hawken project.
