I like this one a lot. Lots of the newer accessories. How do you like the new EOtech compare to the old ones? How about compared to the Aimpoints?

How do you like the Magpul AFG?

The concepts behind them are great. Just curious how well they actually perform compared to the theory behind their designs. I have no reason to believe they don't perform great, other than the fact that most designs usually come with a host of downsides for every positive aspect they add. Seems like every time I get 100% sold on a new concept or design on paper, and end up buying the new do-dickie I end up getting let down once I install it and try it out in real life. Some of this stuff can be real heart breaking.

However, on paper and in theory both sound pretty darn great. So I am just curious to know how impressed you've been since you have had a chance to try them out in real life.

thanks, there are a few newer goodies on this rifle.

the eotech is the same as other eotechs that i've used, just this one takes up less real estate on your rail. the aimpoint vs. eotech arguement will go on forever but i'll say this. i'm an aimpoint guy and i love the t-1 and h-1 micros. but under timed drills, i am a split second faster with the eotech. in the end, i would still choose a t-1 based on battery life, weight, and overall size.

as for the AFG, i can't say that i'm completely sold on them. i like the feel of my stubby TD foregrips or KAC hand stops more. but the key attribute that i do like about the AFG is that it can be used to lengthen short carbine length handguards like the one pictured above. you get to squeeze another inch or two of finger space past the handguard under the gas block. i used to burn my hands all the time by accidentally grabbing too forward on the rifle. not anymore with the AFG.

Weight is on the back burner if you are increasing your weapons effectiveness and capability.

oz = pounds and pounds = pain, how effective can an operator be running around with 20lbs of useless gear? If I had 20lbs of extra ammo that's another story.
