    Featureless M4gery

Well, here it is: I put it on an Anderson A2 lower. Skinny carbine handguards and pre-2000 Colt 30 rounder, with pinned Bushmaster MSR M4 stock, Tactical Tri-Delta Brake, and Hammerhead grip from Exile Machine. The hammerhead did better than the Solar Tactical paddle grip with the drills I did, especially on magazine changes. I do prefer the SOlar Tactical paddle on fixed stocks, however. Sorry about cell phone pics. My wife had the Nikon D90.

For the record, calling something a grip has no legal bearing as per statute or case law. I have no idea where you got that idea, and anybody that says it is of legal significance is completely making S up.
It definitely is outside of my level and that's why I ask in hopes of gaining an answer. And why should I not bother? I would like to make sure that a featureless build complies with the asinine laws, while learning something new.

You are correct about calling something a grip. I should have clarified more. I saw a chart that rated muzzle devices, stocks, etc., with a risk factor. Among those was the AFG. On the chart, the AFG posed a higher risk since the name "grip" is implied. So you're right, it was not illegal, but it was rated as high risk for the end user.

** For those curious about the RifleGrip.com grip, it's actually pretty comfortable (especially compared to the alternative MonsterMan grip or Hammerhead Grip) and still allows for the use of a standard stock, rather than going with the popular Thorsdon FRS-15 stock. The RifleGrip is made by a guy in NY state, for those AR owners afflicted by New York's "Safe Act". In practical use, the RifleGrip places your trigger hand thumb so that it rides right on the ambi-safety selector.
How do I get a hold of Ed to order a dozen of his grips ?
