AR-15 groups @ 100 yards (newbie shooter)

What kind of grouping should I expect at 100 yards using this rifle with the stock iron sights and xm193 ammo? I am a beginner shooter. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for.

If you know how to shoot, have good vision, and use the smallest apperature, somewhere around 2-4 inches. Since you're a new shooter I'd guess you'll start out around 6-10 inches.

There really is no one answer for this question, and it has been asked quite often. I would say if you can get them all in a 10"x10" area at 100 yds w/iron sights than your off to a good start. Just keep practicing. You'll continually improve.

Most rifles will out perform the shooter. So keeping that in mind..... Any grouping you make will be your personal best.

Whenever I can hit "minute-of-man" with iron sights I am happy.

By new shooter do you mean, first time with a gun?, rifle?, AR? As stated it really depends on the shooter and how familiar/comfortable they are with the type of sights used, expected amount of recoil and the firearm itself. I would not expect anything great the first time out, heck I don't expect anything great whenever I shoot a new firearm for the first time myself.

Every firearm takes some getting used to and until the shooter is comfortable shooting a particular firearm, grouping should not even be a consideration. Once the shooter understands if the sights adjusted for a 6 O'clock hold or center hold or are they even "zeroed"; how to control breathing and trigger squeeze, then they can start to worry about groups.

you should be able to do anywhere from 3-5" 5 rounds
