I have a scout and a loaded. Picked up the scout during the lead up to the aw ban a couple of years ago thinking it would pass. Personally, one m1a is enough for me. But I don't lose any sleep over having two.

I suppose if I were rich I'd buy every single one just to do it. But then I'd also be living in another state where I could have unneutered "evil" rifles so my M1A would be taking a backseat to the SCAR, LMT, GAP, etc...Comment

HEAVY.
That was Rogue #1, and it was very heavy.
About two years later, I tried a Gen II Rogue.
Even though it was about a pound lighter that #1, it was still heavy.
It really needs to be another 2 lbs. lighter than it is.
I sold it, and put my CQB-16 in a Blackfeather.
My review of the Rogue.Comment

Have two LRB's, one Springfield, one Fulton if that counts. Springfield is a NM and Fulton a Service all USGI Parts ( except barrels ) when good parts were still found in excellent.
Both LRB's 100% USGI new in package parts, one a Service and one is an M25 built up by Lau / McMillian National Match http://www.texasbrigadearmory.com/m25.htmComment

As with any rifle, I'd suggest the most standard 'issue' configuration, and if possible, the one with the most woodI like the regular full size and the 18" bush gun (if that's what they still call it) - lovely classic guns, though my heart loves FAL's and AR10A2's more. Get the one that calls to you the most and enjoy!
Seriously missing the 80's.....Comment

Is the socom the latest m1a variation springfield made? I wonder if they ever have plans on newer model or upgraded design? That would blow the roof off! It would be a highly anticipated rifleComment

Yes it is, and the SOCOM M1A hit the streets in 2004. Smith Enterprise did not come out with their 16.25" barrel until 2011. Other companies recently began offering a 16.25" barrel option. I do not see a newer model in the works, plenty of upgrades, but no brand new M1A model.Comment

M14k anyone?sigpicOriginally posted by gun toting monkeyboyYou did ask. They were only following your instructions. Next time be a bit more careful in how you phrase your posts. If you give people a straight line like that, this is about the level of response you are bound to get. Just be glad you didn't post "Date this rifle"... Those pictures are usually very disturbing.
