Well I had to do it. I went with my original idea and ordered a CMMG lightweight...

I preordered a 22 conversion from them last month so hopefully the 2 parts drop on me around the same time.

Now I just need to use the search button and figure out if I can safely drop a mag with a 22 marked lower and 5.56 upper with conversion in the reciever.

You should be able to, just be damn sure that you have a mag lock installed before removing the .22 conversion kit and returning the rifle to .223 status. It would probably be a lot safer to have a dedicated .22 and a separate .223 upper with a B15 on the lower though.
