    PTR 91

    A couple of questions:

    1) Anyone got the CA legal version of this gun and if so what do you think of it?

    2) What is different on the CA legal gun compared to the standard model?

    3) Who is the dealer at the Costa Mesa gun show selling this gun? I thought it was Coldwater Guns in Highland (???). My memory is weak in this area so I really don't know. Anyone know for sure?

    Thanks,

    1) They do not sell a "CA legal" model. Add a bullet button to the standard model and you are good to go.
    2) See 1
    3) Don't know but any dealer who handles OLL should be able to help you with a ptr. It can be shipped disassembled or with bullet button installed. Lanworld sells them and can probably point you to a local dealer.

        CA legal PTR means:

If you wish to keep the pistol grip, then you must have fixed magazine with no more than 10rd capacity. You can have all evil features such as retractable / folding stock, flash hider and forward grip.

If you go with None-Pistol Grip build, then you can have removeable mag and pre-ban mag is also allow provided you got your mags before 2000. But you Can NOT have any evil features on this build, such as flasher hider, forward grip or retractable / folding stock.

However, your rifle must have at leat 16" barrel and overal rifle length must be 30" or greater.

have fixed magazine with no more than 10rd capacity (with the bullet button.) This should be bolded. I've seen people using 20 rounders on ARs lately with the BB & they aren't 20/10's / 20's fixed/riveted to 10. I wnet no grip on my PTR91 to use my mags I've had since the 80's. truth is I didn't want to worry over which mags I was using.

Some further research revealed the Costa Mesa Gun Show dealer selling a CA legal version is probably Coldwar Shooters. I think they are set up with the bullet mag button and a 10 round magazine for CA, which is exactly what I want.

Now I have to determine if I want to wait for the gun show in November or order it over the internet. We are buying two, so the hope is in a face to face we can get better pricing (????).

There's a show on Oct 11-12 in Ontario. CWS might be there. Give them a call then you can pick up in Costa Mesa.

Gee what tipped you off? Was it the fact that Cold War Shooters posted just above you in this thread identifying itself as the dealer at the show in question?

Love mine, but loading it through the ejection port is a pain. someday I'll probaly loose the tips of index and middle finger. The bolt must have 20 lbs of spring pressure behind it.
