What distributor is that? My FFL has an AW permit, but SOG and Centerfire Systems refused to send it to us, regardless...

To answer Tony - .22lr AKs are perfcectly legal here as long as the receiver isn't banned by name.

State law however says these conversions are lawful. Hence tread carefully.
I could've sworn I had heard that too. Something about them being readily convertable back to a centerfire rifle.

That would be what I've been told, too.

Regardless that it would require a new barrel, bolt, possibly front trunnion, some modifications to the reciever (the AKT-98s have a narrow feed slit), etc.. The definition of "readily conerted" if you ask me..

                New question....same topic.

This question is in regards to an AR15 type (OLL) rifle.

If you were to put together a complete AR15 type rifle with pistol grip, flash hidder, and all other evil components, but were to install a .22 cal converstion kit to it, would it be exempt from the DOG definition as an assault rifle? Since a .22 is a rim-fire vs. a center fire ammo, would that change anything?

                TIA

Technically.. yes.. It's just too easy to swap uppers, so I'd suggest replacing the pivot pin with one with a bolt with locktite on the nut or something.. JIC..

ETA: Rimfire rifles are exempt from SB23

WOW! this thread is old, I sold that Armscor POS and got a real AK 7.62x39. Yeah... I clicked on this thread without realizing I was the one who started it months ago.

Oh and PS my evil ex bought me the Armscor AK-22 so I have even more hatred for it. But it was the worst gun I ever handled, shot, or laid my eyes upon. If you ever consider your self buying one. Just don't
