Does mine count? I know it has Magpul furniture but that's pretty plain nowadays vs free float etc.

Junkie (or anyone else): what manufacturer's upper is that? The single diameter smooth barrel is exactly the look I want for the wife's lightweight/ simple AR build. And yes, it will have the Magpul Pink furniture - only because Magpul hasn't come out with Sparkly yet.

And ssssh, it's a surprise. Although I've never been able to surprise the Department of Fun Prevention before.

I have an old H-Bar, no rail, no doo-dads, nothing but a Trijicon TA33Gh mounted on the carry handle 'cause my eyes are not what they used to be.

That was my first thought as well. Nice rifle but a match barrel counts as an upgrade...a really nice upgrade.

Just finished building it this past couple weeks, haven't had it out yet... I'm more of a c&r kind of guy, my buddy talked me into an ar, and decided if I'm going to do one it's gotta be kind of old skool, no tactikool

My plainest one:

My first AR-15, I put it together in 2006 or 2007, from a Stag Arms stripped lower and a DPMS A2 rifle upper. It has been fitted with a variety of stocks and grips over the years, but it acquired the Magpul handguard early on (my dog chewed up the original A2 handguard). It has been the favorite rifle for the last two years at our monthly Burro Canyon fun shoots, being shot constantly on most days. It has fired many thousands of rounds without giving us any trouble and - no **** - has been cleaned only once in all those years, about a year ago.

Yesterday I decided to strip and clean the BCG, and holy cow was it filthy. Maybe later I'll actually get to the chamber and bore . . .

This is the old beater Chevy of ARs.
