By all means hate on Arsenal for its past actions, but lets not call things Saiga conversions when they're not.
Original Ak47's did not have milled receivers. The closest thing it comes to is a Type III. It's also not the closest thing to a Type III you can get when there are type III kits available and rewelds.

The first production runs did not have milled receivers, true, but also were relatively limited in number next to the milled receiver variants until they fixed their welding issues with the AKM, at least AFAIK. While yes, there are rewelds out there, rewelds have their own set of issues. Regardless, calling a SAM7R a Saiga rebuild is not accurate

I own dozens of AK-pattern rifles (I collect them). By far, the best quality - bar none - is a Valmet, followed by an original Israeli Galil.

But since those are unobtanium to most, VEPR puts out the best that can be easily acquired. The Veprs are heavy, but that is a product of them being over-engineered (heavy barrel and RPK receiver). They are extremely accurate with good ammo and the fit/finish is beyond most custom AKs.

(These rifles have bullet buttons and 10/30 mags)

NOTE: these rifles have bullet buttons and 10/30 mags.

I have a 31-94 that is the nicest AK that I own. It's no more or less accurate or reliable than my cheapo Tantal. The AK I shoot the most is my WASR and PAP pistol. Both make me happy as a pig in poo. AK's to me are about fun shooting, not showing off in pic threads.

My VEPR says Arsenal on the side of it so I must be Anti 2A.

            Good thing I don't give two sh*ts about Arsenals past anti-ca bullsh*t.

            BTW F*ck California!!!

Can we get back to AKs and get away from the politics?

Guns are fun but politics are irritating.

                To me, AKs are:

                1) Fun things to collect as a hobby. Great to collect fine examples form each country and ponder the history.
                2) My primary home defense / SHTF rifle. Rifle I train with at Carbine classes.

The WASR fills none of those roles for me. If your expensive Arsenal 31-94 is no more accurate than your POS Century Tantal, than that further reinforces the fact that I don't own any Arsenal Rifles.

I have three WASR's and when the time comes to raise the black flag they will be my go-to guns hands down.
