Plan A had better be to join the NRA, get others to join the NRA, donate to CGF, donate to SAF, call your reps and fight this actively. Let's worry about plan B if plan A fails.

For Sale: Off Roster Handgun Moving Sale
For Sale: Off Roster CZ, Browning, PTR 91 Moving Sale

Our AR's will NEVER have to be registered with the NFA. As for Assault Weapons registration in California, you DO NOT give up your 4th ammendment rights if you have a RAW and the men in black (or dark blue) suits CANNOT just come in your house and inspect your guns.
Whatever you possess now will be fine.
Can we just stop spreading rumors and deal with issues once they are actually presented before us?

Thought of that already... If I need to bury my guns... I will bury vast quantities of metal pipe/rebar ALL OVER my property. Let them dig up everything for days... Just rent a post hole digger and put something in every other square foot of yard.
And 'geo stash' the guns on public land, not on the property.Comment

FrankM, you are confusing registration and permits. You need to read subdivision (b). Items that REQUIRE a PERMIT are subject to inspection. Your regular everyday assault weapon that required registration in the 90's is not under a permit....its a registration. Assault Weapons permits are issued even now in California, but we are not talking about those.

By adding the bit about the NFA Dianne Feinstein gave the GOP an easy way to shut down the bill without saying they're doing it to prevent a ban: they'll just say it an unfunded obligation and will increase the deficit and impose hardship on local governments. Then they'll go forward with something more palatable like a greater than ten round mag ban with a sunset.
Feinstein's bill is DOA. Even pro gun democrats in the senate who won by a 1% margin know a "yes" vote can bring out enough gun owners to reverse than 1% margin in 2014 to cost them their seat.
Besides DiFi is 80 years old. Unless she's a vampire, zombie, or alien she won't have another chance to try this again. This is her last hurrah.Comment

I recently spoke with an agent of the DOJ, who laughed at the frenzy of Californian's buying anything and everything to do with AW's. He stated, "Doesn't everyone know CA already has a ban?" Federally, he thinks any new ban will mimic CA's current ban. He also thinks no new CA law will happen until something happens federally . . . which will be a while. As for me, I'm done buying until the people who bought in a panic need to offload their purchases at half price.sigpicComment

These are nice scopes - ProStaff that is; not the Prostate.

I didn't register when CA passed the RAW law. I moved it out of state. If I would have registered it, the DOJ would have been able to enter my home on demand to inspect my storage of said weapon. Basically, I would have given up my 4th Amendment rights. Read carefully any new registration law, and only sign on if you can accept it. Other than that, consider other options. There is no law yet so I can't tell you legal or illegal options (to keep you out of trouble), you'll have to figure that one out.Last edited by Dinosaur Jr; 01-06-2013, 1:51 PM.Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...Comment
