I wish I had never gone out to sea on that 3 hour tour and taken everything with me. Gun locker? Try Davy Jones' locker!

I'm sure that there are other ways that we can convert these rifles to "manually operated" if the worst happens.

So, again assuming the worst, will you register under NFA - or convert (if that's an option)?

I can not agree more. Good post.

At first, I decided that much like boating in rough seas, I'd actually sell all my registered lowers (one more to go). I figured my plan would keep me off a future bad list, yet leave me with fully functioning ARs. In my dreams, these newly configured and legal (at this point) ARs are not branded or a model, thus providing another level of insulation from self-promoting politicians and the men in black from visiting my home in the middle of the night. And if they did, they would not find that I actually am a deep sea diver and recovered my losses. Ya, maybe I bought myself a tiny bit more time, but to what point? SHTF? Ok, dream over.

Yes, I will actually sell my last registered lower just because my plan was fun and I like the billet paper weights I have been playing with. But realistically, if EVERYONE doesn't make noise NOW we will loose our semi-autos, then certain bolt guns.. Then?

I will write this weekend and donate more. Good post Capybara thank you for the wake up!

            AR's

Our AR's will NEVER have to be registered with the NFA. As for Assault Weapons registration in California, you DO NOT give up your 4th ammendment rights if you have a RAW and the men in black (or dark blue) suits CANNOT just come in your house and inspect your guns.

Whatever you possess now will be fine.

Can we just stop spreading rumors and deal with issues once they are actually presented before us?

Right now, no. I have donated in the past and will definitely do so again as soon as funds allow. Right now the wife and I are really struggling financially. (I'm disabled and her employer is being hit hard by the economy). I am an NRA member and I am definitely in the fight.

What I do have is time and a half way decent ability to write. I have been spending hours each day researching, writing and promoting. Check out my blog: http://reasonedpolitics.blogspot.com/

I too will not register - but I also will not break the law. I just wondered what folks would do in a worst case situation.....

I'm hoping Los Angeles Mayor Villarogosa has another gun buy back program. $200 for an AR is a great deal!

                        100% correct.

I never thought I'd live to see it.

                          Worse case

Of course we should contact our governemnt representatives and voice our opinion and join / support the NRA etc.

What we dont need is false information being given to the community before anything has actually happened.
