Anyone thinking of "worst case" options

I know that the fight is just beginning - but I wondered if anyone besides myself is thinking of alternatives to registering our ARs under NFA? I have seen straight pull bolt action models from the UK, and in the past there have been pump AKs. I'm sure that there are other ways that we can convert these rifles to "manually operated" if the worst happens.

So, again assuming the worst, will you register under NFA - or convert (if that's an option)?

As you said, the fight has barely begun and I'm somewhat hopeful we will prevail. That being said, my 'Plan B' purchase is an absurdly tiny child's inflatable boat.

I didn't register when CA passed the RAW law. I moved it out of state. If I would have registered it, the DOJ would have been able to enter my home on demand to inspect my storage of said weapon. Basically, I would have given up my 4th Amendment rights. Read carefully any new registration law, and only sign on if you can accept it. Other than that, consider other options. There is no law yet so I can't tell you legal or illegal options (to keep you out of trouble), you'll have to figure that one out.

Oooh, be careful... that could lead to a tragic boating accident.

I'm sorry for your loss. I too know the perils for boating on rough seas.

I'll sell if they require them to be registered. Or convert to straight pull bolt action.

Registration = Confiscation, it's just a matter of time.

sell them to who? if its a federal ban were kinda screwed. I'd probably go for pump action if anything.

That's what the bad part is, if you decide to not comply with whatever Draconian measures that come to be regarding ARs and AKs this year, sure, you will have them sitting in your safe (or at the bottom of the Ocean).

But you won't be able to take them to the range, hunting or plinking without fear of being arrested. So what's the point? Sure, keep them for a SHTF scenario but other than that, you might as well not own them.

This is what we call a lose-lose.

Thought provoking to think that once responsible, patriotic, freedom loving contributors to society can now be felons with the stroke of a pen - even though you did nothing differently or wrong.
