Hey guys,
I finally got to testing the different Ar-15 mags for the 7.62x39 ar upper and this is what I have found,
So for the magpul P-mags, I used a 20 rounder with a 10 round limiter and found that loading 5 and only 5 seems to work the best. Had the least amount of jams if any.
Next I used a promag steel 20 round ar-15 mag with a 6.8 follower and was able to load 10 into this mag but this one jammed more than i can count. It was ridiculous. whoever said to just switch out the followers must have been on one or something cause they jammed way too much to make this weapon reliable in any situation.
After all this I tried to modify the pmag follower to fit the round round better and still no luck.
I do have an ASC mag specifically built for the 7.62x39 round and compared that mag to the other mags and the lips at the top are longer than the .223 mags. this is the only thing I can see that is the major problem.
If any of you guys have any input I would love to hear it.
